Trained as a lawyer and practiced law in Kuala Lumpur after obtaining her Masters Degree in Law from UK in 1991, Anita had been involved in a wide array of legal corporate and commercial advisory work during the first 15 years of her professional life.
She had been attached to Zaid Ibrahim & Co, Abu Talib Shahrom & Zahari and David Lingam & Co Advocates and Solicitors. She also had practiced under the auspices of her own legal firm Kumar Anita & Co for a number of years. Currently, Anita is attached to Firdaus Azlina & Co.
In 2002, she nurtured her life-long passion for transforming, creating and innovating designs to feature styles for homes through her interior design firm Sutrasmara Sdn. Bhd. Her extensive and passionate involvement in interior design led her to authoring ‘ The Sutrasmara Home’, which was published in 2011. The Sutrasmara Home was a project close to her heart and all profits from the sale of the book had been channelled for charitable causes including aiding the homeless.
One Heart Foundation Malaysia was born out of a guiding clarion call for a better future for our nation and her children. Anita is the first president for One Heart Foundation Malaysia through which she is privileged to work with a team of soulful people who are equally committed to creating a world that nourishes and gives reverence to life.
Anita lives in Kuala Lumpur with her husband Firdaus and their two daughters Nastasha and Natalya whom are the constant inspirational force in her life.
