Shafina Syahrir was born in Penang, raised in Kulim, Kedah and completed her tertiary education in University Putra Malaysia, Serdang with a Bachelors Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL).
Her full-time career started off at Torino Motor Industries (sole distributor of FIAT in Malaysia) in 2006 where she thought employees English with the objective of improving internal and external communications, and later progressed on to a Marketing role which focused on brand communications. But it wasn’t till she joined JobStreet in 2007 that Shafina discovered her hidden talent for sales. Recognized for high performance, Shafina was hired by The Edge Communications in 2011 and currently serves as a Senior Account Manager to a variety of high-profile clients.
Probably one of Shafina’s standout traits would be her creativity. Be it art competitions enrolled in during her schooling years or stage plays she acted in during her days in university, her innate passion for art has earned her praise and recognition from family, friends, academicians and colleagues alike. It is this energy and enthusiasm that led her to take up cake decorating in 2009 where what started off as a hobby very quickly became a part-time business, as demand for her creative works-of-art grew dramatically.
Having come from humble beginnings, Shafina understands the challenges faced by the less fortunate and has always wanted to give back to society. She believes that every capable individual should never forget those in need and for that reason actively volounteerers in CSR initiatives organized by The Edge. In 2016, Shafina was presented the unique opportunity to do even more by taking on the role of Secretary with One Heart Foundation and hopes to change the world, one heart at a time; spreading positive vibes and inspiring others to be the very best version of themselves.
